Yahoo Sports explains how a stuck clock cost South Korean fencer Shin A-lam a shot at a gold medal in the women’s individual epee competition at the London Olympics. If the clock hadn’t malfunctioned and if the clueless officials had overturned the obviously erroneous ruling, Shin would have secured at least a silver medal. Instead, she lost her bronze medal bout to China’s Sun Yujie.
